2020 has brought us all a year of “firsts”. This Christmas my family decided to forgo our traditional Christmas day meal and instead opted for catering carry out “afternoon tea” from The BonBonerie. If you are a Cincinnati local, you have likely at least heard of The BonBonerie. If you have not had the chance to dine-in or taste one of their famous bakery item, I highly recommend adding them to your list of “must trys” for 2021.

The BonBonerie is a bakery that specializes in specialty baked goods, high tea and a light cafe menu. They are located in O’Bryonville at 2030 Madison Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45208. With ample street parking, a bakery parking lot and surrounding metered parking lots, this bakery is easily accessible.

I have enjoyed dining in on several occasions. It is the perfect location to grab lunch or enjoy afternoon tea. Recently my mother went to high tea with her girlfriends and was absolutely raving about their experience. This is what resulted in us catering high tea for Christmas. My mom headed down Christmas Eve morning to pick up our order and the process was seamless.

In true Colwell Fashion, we could not just stop with Afternoon Tea. Once I caught wind that my mother was picking up carry-out on Christmas Eve, I asked her to add on 2 of their infamous cakes. If you have not tried a BonBonerie cake, you are missing out! Each month they have rotating cakes, which means you may find yourself drooling on a monthly basis. For Christmas Eve we went with the Opera Creme and the Bumbleberry Torte. Both delicious and the presentation fabulous! Their cakes are perfect for a special occasion or for a sweet treat “just because”.
